"Where It All Begins" Since 1963
ROWELL RANCH JUNIOR RODEO
Every year in August, cowboys and cowgirls, 18 years and younger compete in the Rowell Ranch Junior Rodeo. The Junior Rodeo has 19 events, including timed-events such as Team Roping, Calf Roping, Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, and Barrel Racing. The livestock events include Calf Riding, Steer Riding, and Bull Riding. To make the competition fair, all but a few of the events are separated into juniors (ages 6 - 13) and seniors (ages 14 - 18). In addition, we provide Pee-Wee events for children ages 1 thru 5, which include the Dummy Roping, Stick Horse Race, Boot Scramble and Goat Ribbon Race.

The 2011, 49th Annual Rowell Ranch Jr. Rodeo, was held on Aug. 27th with a sanctioned Team Sorting on the 28th.
Based on the decision by the NCJRA Board of Directors to NOT sanction our Rodeo this year, we hosted an open, one day junior rodeo, for our contestants.
We are very excited to continue our tradition of hosting Junior Rodeos at Rowells. Our Rodeo Association continues to be committed to the sport of Rodeo and the kids that compete in rodeo events.
Our paybacks, buckles and scholarship awards remained the same as in previous years!!
